What is My Sony?
A:My Sony is an exclusive program for all Sony product owners which allow our members to track and manage their Sony product(s) and warranty as well as receive updates on Sony’s latest happenings.
What are the benefits of joining My Sony?
A:When you register with My Sony you get additional 3 months warranty as well as receive latest product information and promotions in our eNews and get a complimentary* Sony Digital Workshop course. Other member exclusive benefits include birthday treats, exclusive invitations to product launches and events.
*Complimentary courses are limited to selected products and models.
How do I become a My Sony member?
A:By simply registering your Sony product online, you automatically become a My Sony member. Once you submit your registration, you will be contacted via email on your successful registration.
Why do I need to provide NRIC or FIN number?
A:
As there can be instances of customers sharing the same name, the NRIC number will be used as a unique identifier in instances such as invitations to events or redemption of prizes, etc.

Is there any membership / subscription fee?
A:No, membership is free and it is for life.
Does my membership expire automatically when my warranty expires?
A:No, membership is for life even when your warranty expires. Your membership will only expire if you terminate it.
What if I forget my My Sony ID?
A:You can request for your My Sony ID to be sent to your email that was used when you first registered for your e-Warranty.
I entered an email address during registration but I’m getting an error message "invalid email address".
A:Ensure that your email does not contain any symbols / special characters such as – (hyphen), # (hashtag), ‘ (apostrophe). In addition, ensure that your keyboard is in the correct language.
How to choose your My Sony password?
A:Your password should be made up of letter and/or numbers between 6 to 20 characters long with no spaces or special characters. It must also contain one uppper case, one lower case and one number and it cannot be the same or contain elements of your My Sony ID or the answer to your secret question.
How do I update my personal profile?
A:Login to My Sony and click My Personal Information > Edit My Profile to update your personal information.
What if I change my Email Address?
A:
The Email Address which was used to create your My Sony accounts your My Sony ID and cannot be changed.
However, if you will like to update your Email Address to receive our latest news and promotions, you can
login
to your account and updating it under "My Personal Information" > "Edit My Profile".
What should I do if I wish to receive Sony email communications or re-subscribe to receive Sony email communications?
A:By default when you become a My Sony member, you will receive Sony email communications.If you have unsubscribed previously and wish to re-subscribe, login to My Sony with your My Sony ID and password. On the left menu, click on My Email Subscription, tick the checkbox and click submit. Do note that no email acknowledgement receipt will be sent.

How do I ensure Sony email communication reaches my inbox and not my spam folder?
A:To receive Sony email communication at all times, please save our email address (eNews@mysony.ap.sony.com) to your email contacts.

Which Sony products are entitled to sign up for complimentary Sony Digital Workshop (SDW) course?
A:SDW complimentary courses are available for selected Alpha Interchangeable Lens Cameras, Cybershot™ Cameras, Handycam Camcorders and Xperia™ Mobile Phones. Click here to find out more.
How do I know if my recently purchased product(s) is entitled to a Complimentary SDW course(s)?
A:In your My Sony welcome email, you will receive information on your complimentary course(s) and a link to register.

How do I register for my complimentary SDW course(s)?
A:Upon registering your e-Warranty online, you will receive a welcome email within 3 working days that contains a link to register for your complimentary course(s)*.

E-Warranty FAQs
What is the difference between E-Warranty and the warranty that is registered by post?
A:Sony only recognizes products* that are registered online thru e-Warranty to be valid. Warranty that is sent by post will not be accepted. We recommend all customers to register your newly bought products* with us here.

I’ve registered my E-Warranty, why did I not receive my Warranty Certificate?
A:For e-Warranty, there is no certificate. Upon registration of your e-Warranty, you will receive an email confirming your successful registration and you can proceed to login to your My Sony account to view and track your warranty status.
When I register an E-Warranty for a Sony product, will I automatically become a My Sony member?
A:Yes, your e-Warranty is tied to your My Sony account and as a member we are giving you additional 3 months warranty.
If I send in my warranty application card to Sony to register my product by post, will I automatically become a My Sony member too?
A:As warranty is only applicable for online registration, you automatically become a My Sony member when you register your e-Warranty successfully.
Can I register more than one product on My Sony site?
A:Yes, My Sony allows you to register all of your Sony products* under one My Sony ID. We also recommend you to do so for insurance purposes. If you are an existing My Sony member, you can login here and click My Products > Register New Product.

During E-Warranty registration, I am asked to submit my product Serial Number / IMEI Number. Where can I find this information?
A:The Serial / IMEI Number is normally found on the back or underside of your product. If you still have trouble locating your Serial / IMEI number, you can refer to our guide here.
Can I register an E-Warranty for my Sony Broadcast and Professional products?
A:At this moment, e-Warranty is available for only consumer products. However, we may add more products to e-Warranty coverage in the future.
